Introducing my newest project: Dynamite Starfish

Dynamite Starfish logo and Joshua Tree design

Dynamite Starfish is a clothing brand inspired by the outdoors and geared towards rock climbers. This is where I am currently putting my design and illustration skills to work. For those of you who don’t know too much about my history, I am trained as a graphic designer. I worked in an award-winning print design studio for years before moving on to work a brief stint in digital advertising. The advertising world just wasn’t for me, but it got me thinking on what I could do with my skills and what would make me happiest and feel most productive. Dynamite Starfish is the combination of my training, natural skills and future goals all melded together into one project.

Climbing is a sport I started over a decade ago, fell in and out of, and fully committed to a couple years ago. There are so many reasons why I love the sport, from the specific movements to the community that surrounds it. I’ve always been in sports, but I don’t find too many activities where I can combine athleticism, survival skills and creativity like I can in climbing.

I started this blog many years ago to post up my personal artwork and my passion projects. I am so appreciative to all of you who have followed my blog for as long as you have. I also apologize that I have not been very active on this platform over the past year. Illustration gave me the pathway I needed to open up new doors in my career, and it’s all of you that I have to thank for giving me the support to continue on despite my lack of formal training. I hope you will follow along on my new journey, Dynamite Starfish. I will continue to share stories and new climbing artwork on the company’s blog. I have yet to decide if I will continue to post artwork on this blog.
