I often ask myself, “What have I got to lose?” when I’m about to explore new territory, break old habits or make any kind of deviation from the life I lived yesterday. There are times I feel there is nothing to lose—so screw it, I’ll go anywhere!… but when there is too much at stake, the fear of movement is crippling. If living is a balancing act though (and I believe it is), even the smallest of shifts must constantly be monitored and adjusted to our liking. So instead of swinging from having nothing to lose to everything to lose, I’m happy to be finding the line in between.
Everything, and nothing to lose
